BRASS

Golden, enduring, and completely attainable.

Brass is a durable alloy made primarily from copper and zinc, offering a warm golden hue. My brass pieces are cast in Melbourne by a family-owned casting house. They use a combination of remelted brass, and copper and zinc that is both new and recycled. I choose brass for its rich golden colour, which allows me to create beautiful pieces at an attainable price. All brass pieces are polished with renaissance wax, for extra protection from the elements.

SILVER

Bright, recycled, and never plated.

My silver pieces are cast in Melbourne using bright 925 sterling silver. This means it contains 92.5% pure silver alloyed with other metals for durability. 925 sterling silver is the standard for fine silver. The silver itself is recycled, with some of it having been refined to remove impurities and meet the high standards needed for jewelry making. I work with sterling silver because of its cool-toned luminous sheen and heirloom quality.

GOLD

Forever, unmatched, and (also) never plated.

This precious metal is one of the most malleable elements on Earth, resistant to corrosion and prized for its warm allure. My gold pieces are cast in 9 carat yellow gold in Melbourne. I incorporate gold into my pieces to create heirloom-quality jewellery that will maintain its beauty for generations. I do not use gold plating or gold vermeil. These are, in a way, the fake tan of jewellery - fun but don’t last. My gold pieces can last many lifetimes.

FRESHWATER PEARLS

Ethereal, unrepeatable, and only ever restrung.

These organic gems are created when mollusks coat an irritant with layers of nacre (mother-of-pearl), creating a lustrous sphere. While most pearls today are commercially farmed in China, I exclusively source my pearls second-hand, carefully selecting and restringing vintage and pre-owned pieces. The colouration in some of my pearls means they have been dyed. I choose to work with existing pearls rather than supporting pearl farming, allowing me to create beautiful pieces while respecting sea critters. We can create precious jewellery from materials already in circulation.

SEED BEADS

Tiny, vivid, and made in Japan.

Some of my pieces feature seed beads, which are exclusively sourced from makers in Japan. These makers are known for their exceptional craftsmanship. I used seed beads to add gem-coloured hues to my pieces.

OTHER BEADS

Unique, reclaimed, and full of spirit.

Beads are versatile and can be crafted from materials including glass, stone, wood, and ceramic. All my beads, other than seed beads, are sourced second-hand from vintage and pre-owned pieces. I use beads to add colour, texture, and movement to my pieces, creating dynamic designs that catch the light.
